A Portuguese Ford addicted

Hi guys!

My name is Dimas and i'me writing from Portugal.

I'me a huge ford entusiast since i dont remember, maybe all my life i found this forum some months ago and i loved all your great projects.. Pinto turbo, cologne turbo, etc...

At this moment i drive a 1987 Ford sierra saloon, swaped by mistake for a 2.8 EFI cologne, 150bhp from factory.
this is not a chain driven camshaft, so it as that plastic wheel in its place, so i'me afraid because of that this engine is much fragil.

This is the car at this moment:









As full race suspension (hand made by professional), Hybrid MT75 box, Full polly bushes kit, cosworth torsion bars, rear 3.62 LSD diff, 5/112 wheels (scorpio hubs), K&N box air filter...

Its running LPG, using a full adjustable sequencial kit, has more power at LPG than Petrol

And after say this i just need one thing in this car : More Power!

And i really need some advices... first i searched information in British foruns, magazines and so on.. but they dont like 12V cologne engines, and seems dont like supercharging too, and to reach some power in a NA 12v cologne i really need to spend a lot of money.. anyway.. (and Portugal is in a deep crysis, but the passion resists )...

I bought a Eaton Supercharger from a mercedes and i really dont know if this is the right way, because i never saw anything like this done before...

I hope this is not boring for you, but i'me new in this world.. Sorry for my english, it not so good as i wish :S

Really clean Sierra you got there, really enjoy the colour!

Would be cool to see a supercharger on a cologne, i think there is a company in UK called Top Boss Performance that have done that conversion, or maybe its 24v :S anyways they have a few videos up on youtube and some information on their website but its kinda unclear how they do about it imo, its true they are very limited in their thinking of doing turbo/superchanger conversions on engines thats N/A.

Im shure some people here in this forum that has the right knowledge to help you out with questions on the performance upgrade part

But i'me afraid to supercharge it, i read somewere that could be dangerous to do it for the engine, and still dont know if will it make my engine go to the 300bhp wall...

I'me thinking agout to sell the supercharger, just because is possible to spend the same money as the turbocharge route...

Interesting that it says 1.6 on the throttlehouse... I would say the 2,8 is not ideal like the 2,9 for Boost.
The 2,8 has much higer compression and siamese exahust.
Get another car to abuse with a turbo, that one you have is way to beautiful.

Is true, i'm afraid about the exahust, but the compreession ratio maybe is not a problem, the engine is a bit tired :S

Some times i'me scrared to abuse te car just to not damage it :S

I have Ford 2.8 Efi turbo.... compression ratio isn't too high.... buy these to fix it.

Yes, some good updates, some bad ones to.. My diff (LSD) died, as broke some weeks ago..
And the 2.8 supercharger/turbo is Off the plan, now i'll fit a Duratec 3.0 24V from a Jag.. Already bought the engine and by now it will be naturaly aspirated

Lots of fabrication coming there...
